Topic: Developing a Web Page
This week, we will focus on aspects of design when developing a web page. Students learn the basics of adding color to their pages and how to add background images to the HTML page for visual interest, modify the appearance of the text and links. They also learn about different types of images and image maps. Finally, they will be able to create an image map and test it with different Web browsers.
Students work with different fonts, and learn about how to control spacing, indentation, styles, weights, and font alignment. We will explore features, advantages and disadvantages of GIF, JPEG, and other image file formats. Students learn how to use them to add special effects to the Web page. They also learn how to control the size, placement, and appearance of inline images on the Web page.
Students will also learn about server-side and client-side image maps. Students will create an image map. They also learn about the different hotspots: rectangular, circular, and irregularly shaped polygon hotspots, and how to create these hotspots.
